Basel is a city on the Rhine River in northwest Switzerland, close to the country’s borders with France and Germany. Its medieval old town centers around Marktplatz, dominated by the 16th-century, red-sandstone Town Hall. Its 12th-century Gothic cathedral has city views, and contains the tomb of the 16th-century Dutch scholar, Erasmus. The city’s university houses some of Erasmus’ works.

From my hotel I bought a ticket on the ticket machine going to Basel city center (ticket cost €7.50 for a day).
The atmospher is very differrent when i hop off from my tram.

Basel Minster is a religious building in the Swiss city of Basel, originally a Catholic cathedral and today a Reformed Protestant church. The original cathedral was built between 1019 and 1500 in Romanesque and Gothic styles.

The Middle Bridge (Mittlere Brücke) is a historic bridge in the Swiss city of Basel. It is situated on the oldest existing bridge site across the Rhine, between Lake Constance and the North Sea.
Switzerland is one of the most expensive country in europe (or maybe in the world).
I inquire a ticket going to Geneva for the next day. But i was shocked (jaw drop) the moment i knew the ticket price for retour (CHF 155.00).
Need make a plan B where to go on the next day.
The water on the river is so clean/clear.
I’ve been in Lucerne, Switzerland 2yrs. ago and it’s the same clear water here in Basel.
The day is almost over, i was expectng rain on a late afternoon but it turns out to be a good one. Sitting/rest along to this river was so calming. I just mesmerize the beauty of the church, river & the brige.
