Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a German town in northern Bavaria known for its medieval architecture. Half-timbered houses line the cobblestone lanes of its old town. The town walls include many preserved gate houses and towers, plus a covered walkway on top. St. Jakob’s Church houses an intricate, late Gothic altarpiece by woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. The medieval Town Hall has a tower with panoramic views.

Day 1 of 8

I trevelled by train from Amsterdam to this small town of Germany called Rothenburg ob der Tauber with so many stop over.

Visiting this town was a planned since last year. Seeing those tiny house on the picture all the time makes me pushed myself to visit this place.

I arrived at 19:00 in the evening, check-in at my hotel and did a corona self-test (ofcourse Negative) and immediately go for a lil walk around the city.

The famaous Plönlein without any tourist walking around. So happy to it though. Travelling during corona was a lil bit of an advantage as a traveller.

First dinner at the Marktplatz/Market Square.

Germany is famous with their Schnitzel, is a thin slice of meat. The meat is usually thinned by pounding with a meat tenderizer. Most commonly, the meats are breaded before frying.

This is how i love germany, the food is good & cheaper than in holland.

Day 2 of 8

First breakfast at the hotel during corona…

Buffet is not available but they ask you the night before what do you want to have for breakfast. The moment i sit on my table the bread is already there after a few moment the juice & the coffee (espresso & capuccino) the rest of the food came after.

After i finished my breakfast they ask for a corona self-test again (actually that is the requirement on the whole city of Rothenburg)

I was nervous, i might be positive that time. what if i am positive, i will quarantine for 14days on that city (that sort of thought run on my head) ofcourse Thank you Lord. The result is Negative.

City Corners

Time to enjoy the weather & the sun with a cup of coffee and the famous Rothenburg pastry Schneeball or Schneeballen (Snowball) , is a pastry made from shortcrust pastry and is especially popular in the area of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

The famous fountain at my back who located at the Marktplatz/Market Square, plays the part

of the movie “The Beauty & The Beast”.

Dinner time came so fast and this is my last day in this city. So glass of wine is deserved with this dinner feast.

I order the traditional Schweinhaxe (Pork Knuckle)with Kartoffelkloesse (Potato Dumplings) and Sauerkartkraut (Fermented Cabbage) as side dish.

The Night Watchman Tour in Rothenberg..

I cannot able to join this tour, since it’s only german language. I read in the reviews that this tour is good and very interesting. Maybe next time.

Last glimpse of this small city!!

Will surely comeback in the future.

I always called the Fairytale village/town
